Feb. 4, 2017 Andromeda was performed by the University of Calgary Wind Ensemble, conducted by Gareth Jones, as part of the Forms of Sound Festival, on Feb. 1, 2017 at 8:00 PM.
Feb. 4, 2017 Bryce Canyon and Yellowstone of Horwood's National Park Suite was performed by the Greater Miami Youth Symphony, with Elaine Rinaldi conducting, as part of the Visions of America concert series, on Jan. 6, 2017.

2016

Apr. 30, 2016 National Park Suite was performed by the South Valley Symphony (conducted by Anthony Quartuccio) in San Juan Bautista, California (in the Church at Mission San Juan Bautista) on May 8, 2016 at 4:00 PM.
Apr. 16, 2016 Piece Percussionique No. 6, Requiem, had its world premiere on Apr. 10, 2016 in the recital hall of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra office (Tucson, AZ). The concert was the annual full length percussion ensemble concert by the percussionists of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra under the direction of principal percussionist Homero Ceron.

2014

Feb. 6, 2014 Horwood's Amusement Park Suite was performed at Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio (in the Kulas Hall Gamble Auditorium) on May 16, 2014 at 8:00 PM.

2012

Sep. 3, 2012 Historic issue of vintage performances by Horwood's free-improvisation group Convergence are now available on a limited edition, analog stereo LP.
Apr. 19, 2012 Horwood's National Park Suite has been nominated as a finalist entry for the 2012 American Prize in Composition under the category orchestra-professional. Including Horwood's nomination, 16 works by 16 composers have made it into the rounds of finalists.
Mar. 13, 2012 Horwood's National Park Suite and Symphony No. 1 have been nominated as semi-finalist entries for the 2012 American Prize in Composition under the category orchestra-professional.
Mar. 13, 2012 Horwood's Io will be performed on May 4, 2012 at Gallery Connexion in Fredericton, New Brunswick by Nadia Francavilla (violin) and Andrew Reed Miller (contrabass).
Mar. 1, 2012 John Frayne of The News-Gazette (the newspaper of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois) reviews Horwood's National Park Suite and writes: "This piece, not written for the films, but nonetheless pictorial in inspiration, contained some exquisite tone painting as well as high decibel brass outbursts."
Jan. 28, 2012 Michael Horwood guest stars in a video at Yellowstone National Park to promote his CD Suite and Serious.

2011

Sept. 23, 2011 Amusement Park Suite appeared on the main season of the Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Symphony Orchestra on February 12, 2012. Music director Lauren Green was the conductor.
Apr. 17, 2011 National Park Suite was performed by the Rockford Symphony Orchestra (Rockford, Illinois) on April 16, 2011 with Steven Larsen conducting.

2010

Oct. 27, 2010 Amusement Park Suite will be performed by the Minot Symphony Orchestra (Minot, North Dakota) on Jan. 29, 2011 with Denis Simmons conducting.
Jan. 18, 2010 Score samples are now available to download for the majority of Horwood's compositions.

2009

Jul. 1, 2009 Horwood's Percussionique CD is released by Albany Records, featuring his percussion works Dynamite, Fragments, Little Bow Piece, Mathematics, Piece Percussionique No. 1, Piece Percussionique No. 3, Piece Percussionique No. 4, Piece Percussionique No. 5, Piece Percussionique No. 6 and The Shadow of Your Drum.
Jun. 6, 2009 Horwood's Do You Live For Weekends? was performed by the Calgary Philharmonic, with Pierre Simard conducting, on May 21, 2009, during the Hear & Now: A New Music Festival.

2008

Dec. 1, 2008 Horwood's electroacoustic work Monday Afternoon is featured on the Centrediscs CD, Cult Figures, released last month.
Aug. 6, 2008 The 2008 Western Canadian Music Awards has nominated Horwood's Three Interludes (on the CD Masterworks of the New Era, Vol. 10) for Outstanding Classical Composition and Horwood's CD Suite and Serious for Outstanding Classical Recording.
Jul. 31, 2008 Piano Sonata (Preludes, Elegy and Dances) received its world premiere during the Les Amis concert series in Toronto on Oct. 21, 2008, at Gallery 345. Commissioner Mary Kenedi was the pianist.

Jul. 22, 2008 Initiated in Dec. 2007, Horwood's complete music for percussion has now been brilliantly recorded by the Toronto Percussion Ensemble for an upcoming CD. Ray Dillard (manager and recording director for NEXUS) and Michael Horwood were the recording supervisors. A release announcement is forthcoming.
Jul. 9, 2008 Horwood's Do You Live For Weekends? will be performed during the "Hear and Now" New Music Festival on a concert entitled "It's About Time". The performance, by members of the Calgary Philharmonic, will be on May 21, 2009.
Apr. 9, 2008 Toronto pianist, Mary Kenedi, performed Broken Chords on April 22 in the Canadian Embassy in Prague, and on the 30th in the Canadian Embassy in Budapest.

2007

Dec. 17, 2007 Michael Horwood is interviewed by audio archivist John Gray. The one hour interview with music was recorded at the Canadian Music Centre in Toronto for an upcoming podcast.
Dec. 12, 2007 Five works for percussion were brilliantly recorded in Toronto on Dec. 10-12 at York University by the Toronto Percussion Ensemble for an upcoming CD containing all of Horwood's music for percussion. Ray Dillard (manager and recording director for NEXUS) and Michael Horwood were the recording supervisors. The works recorded include Dynamite, Piece Percussionique No. 1, Piece Percussionique No. 5, Fragments and The Shadow of Your Drum.
Dec. 5, 2007 New computer-engraved editions of several of Horwood's works have just been archived at the Canadian Music Centre. While not revisions, they are all "cleaned-up" in notation and appearance. The archived works include Conspicuous Illustrations, Double Quintet, Dynamite, all Microduets, National Park Suite and Symphony No. 1.
Nov. 12, 2007 Horwood's Fragments is performed by Mark Duggan on marimba and Beverly Johnson on vibraphone.
Oct. 15, 2007 Horwood is an adjudicator for the 2007 composer applications to the Prairie Region of the Canadian Music Centre.
